MusiciansWay.com provides information to musicians, music students, music teachers, music lovers, arts professionals and the general public. Our privacy policy reinforces the integrity of our informational service, and we aim to protect your privacy in any interactions that you may have with us.

Our privacy pledge to you
We know that you care how information about you is collected and used, and we are committed to handling such information carefully and sensibly. We do not sell, share, or rent your information to others in any way that is not mentioned in this Privacy Policy.

Information we collect and how we collect it
This policy describes how we collect and use information provided to us by people who interact with us online through our websites. Much of the information on MusiciansWay.com is offered without our collecting any personally identifiable information from you; you can use our site and view much of our content anonymously.

The information we gather falls into three main categories:

(1) Personal information. You voluntarily supply this to us such as when you subscribe to The Musician’s Way Newsletter or any other email list or participate in a survey.

(2) Tracking information. We or third parties collect this as you navigate through our site. For instance we use Google Analytics.

(3) Customer service information. We collect this to support any information request or to answer questions.

Personally identifiable information
Most features on our site require no registration. However, for certain services, such as to enroll in an email list, you will need to provide us with some personal information such as your email address. If you provide us with personal information, we may use this to help customize your experience online or provide you with personalized messages regarding content that interests you.

Aggregate information collected through technology
When you use MusiciansWay.com, we may collect tracking information such as your browser type, the type of operating system you use, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and the pages visited on the site. None of this information identifies you personally; we only collect it for aggregate reporting on site activity. For example, we may want to know how long the average user spends on our site or which pages or features get the most attention. We use this information to make our site more useful to you. Most aggregate information is collected via cookies or other technological methods. We use cookies and other technologies for analysis and personalization services.

Third parties
Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to our website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Ads Settings.

How your information will be used
Our primary goal in collecting information is to provide you with a customized experience and make our offerings more beneficial to you. As such, we only use personal information for specific purposes. For example, if you contact us to ask a question, we will use the information we collect to reply to you; if you provide us with responses to a survey, we use your responses in combination with those of other survey respondents for the research purposes of that survey.

Sharing your personally identifiable information
MusiciansWay.com will not exchange, sell, or rent any information that identifies you. However, information may be securely transferred to an outsourcing or acquiring company under the strict terms of the Transfer of Business clause below.

Surveys
Occasionally, MusiciansWay.com may conduct surveys. We have supplementary policies that specifically address information collected through participation in our surveys.

When you participate in one of our surveys, whether conducted by us or through our agents, you may be asked to provide us with the following types of information: (1) demographic information, such as your age, gender, and geographic location; (2) your opinions on various topics; (3) information about yourself and/or about your experiences with products and services (some of which information may be personally identifying).

The following principles govern our use of the information we collect through surveys:

Your survey responses will be used only in combination with those of other survey respondents to produce information to help all site users. Your individual responses will remain confidential to MusiciansWay.com and will not be used for non-research purposes.

There are two general exceptions to these principles:

(1) As part of our quality-control efforts, if you participate in a survey, you may be contacted by MusiciansWay.com or its agents to validate that you took part in the survey.

(2) With your prior consent (if provided in your initial survey response), our researchers may follow up with you based on your responses to a survey.

We employ commercially reasonable efforts to secure web servers, networks, host operating systems, and databases within our control against unauthorized access. However, no website can guarantee that personally identifiable information will be protected in all situations. Therefore, MusiciansWay.com can only guarantee that it will make a reasonable effort to protect from unauthorized access any information that you provide. For instance, we engage Starfield Technologies to provide our SSL certificate.

You hereby consent to the transfer of such information provided that MusiciansWay.com shall: (1) comply with all U.S. federal and state rules and regulations; (2) use commercially reasonable efforts to have the purchaser expressly agree to the obligations of MusiciansWay.com in this Privacy Policy. In addition, MusiciansWay.com may transfer personal information provided by you and aggregate information collected on this Website to a third party organization to which MusiciansWay.com outsources all or a portion of its office administration functions (an “Outsourcer”) provided that when MusiciansWay.com does this it shall enter into an agreement with such Outsourcer whereby the Outsourcer agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all personal information in substantially the same manner as MusiciansWay.com has agreed to do in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time. Any amendments to this policy will be detailed on this page. If we make a significant or material change to the way we use your personal information, we will post a notice on our website thirty (30) calendar days before we make such a change.
